VN-Index curbs rising trend as investors dump pillar stocks

August 10, 2022 by www.sggpnews.org.vn

Signs of correction appeared quite early when selling orders were pushed up strongly among large-cap stocks. In the opposite direction, the reciprocal cash flow quickly poured into the market to help the VN-Index reverse after the ATO session. There was a time when the index easily surpassed 1,260 points. However, as soon as the VN-Index was about to pass this point, profit-taking orders in the group of large-cap stocks were placed heavily. On the other side of the electric board, although the buying order did not show any sign of weakening against the supply pressure, it was not strong enough to keep the VN-Index to stay green at the end of the trading session. Closing the trading session on August 10, the VN-Index dropped 2.35 points, or 0.19 percent, to 1,256.5 points. The difference between gainers and losers was not too large, with 246 losers, 210 gainers, and 77 unchanged stocks. However, the red color dominated the VN30 basket with 24 losers and six gainers, including VNM, … [Read more...] about VN-Index curbs rising trend as investors dump pillar stocks

August 10, 2022 by vir.com.vn

The eighth edition of the biennial World Cities Summit returned to a fully in-person conference format at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands after a largely virtual summit last time out. At the event, numerous examples were outlined of global cities responding to urban challenges in terms of how to be more resilient, sustainable, and cohesive. The theme of this year’s summit, “Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Emerging Stronger”, was crafted to reflect the urgent and important imperative that economic growth can no longer be pursued at the expense of climate change and environmental degradation. August 10, 2022 by vir.com.vn

Vietnam only currently boasts wind farm projects in operation near the shores. Meanwhile, offshore equivalents are rather new. Riccardo Felici, country manager for renewables consultants OWC Vietnam Every emerging market has challenges to overcome, and these cover different sectors of the industry. The main challenges that can be foreseen for a truly offshore industry development are policy stability, including remuneration schemes, power grids, and supply chain. Offshore projects are complex projects developed from several miles up to a hundred miles off the coasts. The benefit is better wind resources and larger spaces that allow for very large turbines to be installed.
