Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was speaking at a forum on innovation and start-ups held by the Asia Society on May 17 (US time) in the US. He affirmed that Viet Nam identifies science and technology, innovation and entrepreneurship as important driving forces for development in the new period. With the German labor market's scarcity of highly skilled workers, this is an opportunity for Vietnamese workers to develop their careers in Germany. In order to help young people best prepare to work in Germany, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam) and Saigontourist Hospitality College (STHC) organized the seminar "Working in Germany" on May 13. Themed “The National road-map and guidelines for e-logbook and electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) in Vietnam,” the workshop aims to share the results and lessons learned from eCDT pilot programs and make consultation on the road-map to applying e-logbook amd eCDT to the management of fishing activities and the implementation of the Fisheries Law 2017, heading for sustainable and responsible fisheries development in Vietnam. At the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Capture Fisheries under the Directorate of Fisheries Pham Ngoc Tuan presented an overview of the development of the software and guidance on the implementation of e-logbook and eCDT, including training support and pilot programs in localities. The Vietnamese general led a high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation to accompany Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who was on his working trip to the U.S. to attend the ASEAN - U.S. Special Summit. On May 16, at the U.N. Headquarters, Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Hoai Nam worked with General Birame Diop, military adviser and assistant secretary-general. Vovinam makes a return to the regional sports event after nine years of absence. It made its debut at SEA Games 26 in Indonesia in 2011. It took place for the second time in the games’ 27th edition in Myanmar in 2013.
