Vietnam ready for talks with US on tax evasion investigation into Vietnamese steel pipes
Vietnam is willing to hold trade talks with the United States to timely solve arising problems regarding a U.S. anti-circumvention investigation into steel pipe products imported from the Southeast Asian country. Le Thi Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made the statement at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday following reports that the U.S. officially initiated an investigation into the case. Hang affirmed that the Vietnam-U.S. comprehensive partnership has witnessed progress in all fields in recent times, including in economy, trade, and investment. Flood is seen in Hoa Mat District of Hoa Binh Province The Vietnam Disaster Management Authority said that at least 7 people were dead and missing after torrential rain knocked out power, caused landslides, and left roads and subways submerged. Currently, the rain has not stopped, and the number of victims may still increase because the localities have not yet reported, still continuing to update. In the mountainous Northern Province of Lao Cai, 15-year-old boy Vu Duc Duy in Pom Han Ward went missing when he went through the spillway and was swept away by the flood. Elsewhere, Hoa Binh Province reported that three people were dead and two went missing. The two victims who are still missing are 17-year-old Bui Duc Thanh in Kim Boi District and 38-year-old Dinh Ngoc Huong in Lac Thuy District. MND’s digital transformation plan reviewed
This was the first meeting of the board to evaluate the achievements in digital transformation in the MND over the past time and discuss and collect opinions to complete the plan before being carried out in the coming time. As reported, to accelerate the progress of digital transformation in the MND, last month the Defense Minister issued Decision 2521/QD-BQP on forming the compilation board and editing board for digital transformation plan in the MND by 2025 with a vision to 2030. Whales put on a show off lesser-known beach in central Vietnam
Vung Boi - De Gi, an unspoiled destination in Phu Cat District around 40 km from Quy Nhon Town, has become the center of attention after some of the giant creatures were spotted off the beach earlier this month. The beach is famous for its clear, blue waters. Lensman Nguyen Phan Dung Nhan of Quy Nhon said he and his friends hired a boat to reach the area where the whales are. Diving expert and local tour guide Tommy Toan said that he spotted the whales a month ago. Initially he saw eight whales but now there are only two left, a male and a female. Toan said he first encountered the whales on July 26 when he was taking tourists to Hon Trau Islet, about 8 kilometers from the shore.
