Vietnam have advanced to the women’s football final at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games by defeating Myanmar 1-0 at Cam Pha Stadium in northern Quang Ninh Province on Wednesday night. The hosts consecutively won the gold medal in the 2019 and 2017 tourneys while Myanmar claimed the bronze medal in those two editions. Wednesday’s game were much enlivened by the two teams’ excellence and 15,950 spectators at the stadium. Pham Hai Yen had two chances to face Myanmarese goalkeeper May Zin Nwe, but both her finishes lacked power and accuracy. Vietnam stresses importance of maritime and aviation security in East Sea

Vietnam flag flies on Mount Everest
PANO – With great effort, three Vietnamese on the morning of May 22 left behind hardship to conquer the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, and plant the Vietnamese red flag with the yellow star. The first to reach the peak of Mouth Everest was climber Bui Van Ngoi, at 6am (Nepalese time) or 7.30am (Vietnam time). Climbers Phan Thanh Nhien and Nguyen Mau Linh climbed to the peak at 8.00 am (Nepalese time) or 9.30am (Vietnam time). The fourth climber, Le Ba Cong, failed to conquer Mount Everest due to his health. At 15.00 on the same day, the group safely returned to camp station 4 (height of 8,016m). As planned, the group returned to camp station 2 on May 23, Everest Base Camp, the following day. Tan Son Nhat Airport on June 6 will welcome the Everest climbers. ASEAN defense senior officials meet in Phnom Penh
The high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation to the meeting was led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien. In his opening remarks, General Nem Sowath, Director of the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs under the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense emphasized the importance of this meeting in preparation for the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM). The French corporation gets about five million applications for roughly 15,000 new positions each year. The vast number of applications took up a great deal of L’Oreal’s money and time for the personnel selection process. Things got easier when the corporation adopted a modest approach by applying AI to the recruitment process in an intern programme. A representative of L’Oreal said that 12,000 applicants with 80 spots were quickly processed by AI, saving 200 recruiting hours compared to the previous full human-powered review process.
