In the final, Thailand competed with Indonesia with six pairs of athletes in six weight classes. Thailand defeated Indonesia 4-2 to take the gold. The Indonesian team won silver. The bronze medal went to Việt Nam as they defeated Myanmar 4-2. The Vietnamese team had Hà Thị Nga competing in the women's +70kg category, Nguyễn Châu Hoàng Lân in the men’s +90kg, Nguyễn Ngọc Diễm Phương in the women -57kg, Nguyễn Hải Bá in the men’s -73kg, Nguyễn Thị Hường in the women’s -70 kg and Lê Anh Tài in the men’s -90kg. Truong Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Huong, Diep Thi Huong and Nguyen Thi Ngan defeated Indonesian opponents in the women’s 500m quadruples final with a time of 1:54 seconds to take the gold medal. Vietnam's men's football team defended their gold medal with a 1-0 victory against Thailand. They kept the clean sheet throughout the Games. Indonesia won the men's football bronze by beating Malaysia in penalty shootout. Muay and diving each won five gold medals on Sunday. Vietnam also won three boxing gold during the day in three women's events. Aerobic gymnastics brought two gold medals in mix pair and group events, and esports another two. Vietnam beat their Thai rivals 1-0 on Sunday night to win the gold medal in men’s football for the second time in a row at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Despite the rainy weather, fans arrived at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi very early to cheer for the junior Golden Stars. The Vietnamese under-23 team staged a series of attacks to pressure their Thai peers in the very first minutes of the match. Striker Nguyen Tien Linh had a chance to open the scoring for Vietnam in the 19th minute, but his header was not powerful enough to defeat Thai goalie Kawin Thamsatchanan. From a corner kick in the 43rd minute, Thailand’s Jonathan Khemdee took a shot at Nguyen Van Toan’s goal, but the ball flew too high. As of 3:00 pm on Sunday, the host nation had bagged 188 gold medals, 109 silvers, and 109 bronzes, according to the event's official website. Thailand ranked second with 77 golds, 92 silvers, and 125 bronzes. Indonesia and the Philippines were in third and fourth places with 62 and 47 gold medals, respectively.
