The Vietnamese Ministry of Health has issued 14 million ‘COVID-19 vaccine passports’ to the general public since April 15. A month after its official rollout, the passport is now available on the national COVID-19 app PC-Covid and the Digital Health app. It has 11 fields of information: name, date of birth, nationality, the targeted disease, doses of vaccines received, date of vaccination, lot number of the vaccine batch, type of vaccine, vaccine product received, the vaccine manufacturer, and a code for the certification. Information on the targeted disease, vaccine, vaccine product or manufacturer is compatible with the values provided in the World Health Organization’s 'COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker and Landscape' and the 'Value Sets for EU Digital COVID Certificates' issued by the European Union. Hunt for human talent for tourism – Vietnam’s new normal: RMIT University
As Vietnam reopens its borders to tourism, attracting, developing and retaining a quality workforce has become the top priority for this industry. With borders reopened and tourism promotion campaigns launched in Vietnam, hotels, tour operators and ancillary service providers across the country might be facing a major problem: shortage of qualified labor. Dr Nuno F. Ribeiro, RMIT University Vietnam During the worst period of the pandemic in 2020-2021, many tourism organizations had to reduce their (experienced) workforce. A report by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism revealed that tourism businesses cut staff by 70-80% in 2020. In 2021, the number of full-time tourism employees was down to 25% of the 2020 level, and about 30% quit their jobs or had their contracts terminated. Vietnam Airlines, 15 other airlines to take part in Sustainable Flight Challenge
TSFC is a program to boost initiatives of developing the aviation industry which was launched by SkyTeam, a global airline alliance with members being the world's large airlines. The program aims to find airlines operating the most eco-friendly commercial flight along with the most sustainable development. The airlines will be assessed on 14 items by International Examiner Council, experts, leaders of the aviation sector. The winner shall be honored at a special event in this June. The Sustainable Flight Challenge has attracted participation of 16 airlines from different countries, including the United States, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, China, the Republic of Korea and so on. In the first activity, the airlines will perform flights with a long distance of over 5,000 kilometers, 1,500-to-5,000-kilometer medium distance to receive assessment on effective exploitation and environment protection on the flight routes. Vietnamese blue beret’s love spread in Bentiu, South Sudan
The program, aiming to support the local people, was carried out right before the L2FH Rotation 3 departed for home after accomplishing its term and handing over the mission to the L2FH Rotation 4. On this occasion, 150 gifts, including notebooks, pencils were handed over to needy students with good academic outcomes. Meanwhile, the medical staff also presented 350 handmade face masks and 20 new sets of tables and chairs to the school. This was the second time that Vietnamese military doctors have come to Liech Primary School and brought meaningful and practical gifts to help the children there have better study condition.
