Policies to take effect in July

Illustrative photo (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – A host of new policies , including those on minimum wage increase , paper bill elimination , and new ordinary passports, are due to come into force in July. Accordingly, a new decree, coded 38/2022/ND-CP, on raising the regional minimum wage for labourers will come into effect on July 1. The 6 percent increase is equivalent to a rise of 260,000 VND (11.20 USD) in Region 1, and 240,000 VND, 210,000 VND, and 180,000 VND in Regions 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The document to this effect also specifies that the minimum hourly wage will range from 15,600 to 22,500 VND, which also depends on the region. The geographical classification is determined based on the employer’s place of operation. Collectius acquires more than $800 million of non-performing loans in Vietnam

The deal, which includes a combination of credit cards and personal loans, represents the largest single acquisition made by Collectius to date and signifies a growing need for debt restructuring solutions in the country as loan defaults become more common. The NPLs were a joint acquisition by Collectius and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. Both parties partnered in 2020 to launch the $60 million Distressed Asset Recovery Platform Programme that focuses on the acquisition and resolution of distressed assets across emerging markets. This programme helped many customers across the region meet their financial obligations and regain creditworthiness. IFC is also a minority equity shareholder in Collectius. In addition, Collectius recently acquired NPL portfolios from a leading super app in Southeast Asia, as part of a regional deal that covers five countries including Vietnam. Covid-19 might recur if people neglect vaccination: Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam

(Photo: SGGP) Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam made a field trip with his delegation to inspect the prevention of dengue fever and vaccination against Covid-19 in Ho Chi Minh City on June 30, accompanied by Standing Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen and Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People's Committee Phan Thi Thang. Dengue fever cases increased by 172.5 percent MD-Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Health of HCMC, informed that by June 29, the cumulative number of dengue cases in the city was 20,952, an increase of 172.5 percent compared to the same period last year, including ten deaths. Districts with high dengue cases include Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, District 12, Hoc Mon, Thu Duc City, Cu Chi, and Tan Phu.
