An Cuong Wood Working JSC announces the cooperation agreement with Sumitomo Forestry American. — Photo courtesy of the firm Local timber producer, An Cuong Wood Working JSC, has announced a cooperation agreement with Sumitomo Forestry American, a subsidiary of Japan-based Sumitomo Forestry Group, to provide furniture for projects in the United States from 2022 onward. Sumitomo Forestry America has invested billions of dollars into the US market and owns many real estate and construction companies. The company planned to launch thousands of housing products in the US. According to An Cuong, the cooperation was expected to help it earn tens of millions of US dollars per year. Businesses are discovering new ways to separate, contain, and re-use the waste they produce, Le Toan SCG Packaging (SCGP) under Thai industrial conglomerate SCG impressed at last week’s exhibition on the circular economy in Vietnam with a number of environmentally-friendly products, one of which was paper beds. These beds, easily installed and transported, are made entirely of recycled paper and have been provided for many hospitals in Vietnam in recent times. “This is one of the products demonstrating the responsibility of SCG in the role of a citizen enterprise. We stand ready to bring innovative solutions to Vietnam to help authorised agencies and people,” said Sompob Witworrasakul, general director of Vina Kraft Paper Co., Ltd., a member of SCGP. Suspect captured in shooting at July 4 parade in Chicago’s Highland Park suburb
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. -- Police announced they had captured a suspect in a shooting on Monday that killed six people and wounded more than 36 when a man with a high-powered rifle opened fire from a rooftop at a Fourth of July parade in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park. Police confirmed they captured 22-year-old Robert E. Crimo III, who was from the area. Police can be seen surrounding a car and then Crimo exiting the vehicle with his hands raised, according to a video by the Chicago affiliate of ABC News . Crimo lies flat on the ground before police take him into custody. Charges will be filed, Highland Park Police said. The shooting caused toddlers to abandon tricycles and parents to run for safety with their children, turning a civic display of patriotism into a scene of panicked mayhem.
