The cooperation between India and five Mekong countries Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam is aimed to shore up cooperation in the areas of tourism, culture, education, and transport. India has committed to financing the Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) for other Mekong countries namely Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam at the 11th Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The largest ever vaccination campaign in history has posed both opportunities and challenges to the cold storage industry as tens of millions of vaccine doses need to be preserved at the same time. CDC Hanoi's cold warehouse At a working session with Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong recently, CDC Hanoi Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Kieu Anh said CDC Hanoi has one cold warehouse with the capacity of 40 cubic meters, which can contain an additional 150,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses, and one cold warehouse with the capacity of 16 cubic meters which can contain an additional 100,000 AstraZeneca doses. Hanoi also has six 3000 and 3000 AC refrigerators (the capacity of 126 liters can contain 10,000 doses each), and six cold boxes with the capacity of 44 liters each. The municipal Department of Health has categorized Covid patients into five groups: those being asymptomatic and having no underlying diseases, those with mild symptoms, those with moderate and severe symptoms, those with underlying medical conditions or suffering comorbidities prior to Covid-19, and critically ill patients. In case the number of infections crosses 80,000, the city would turn existing infrastructure into specialized facilities for receiving and treating Covid-19 patients based on these five groups. Quarantine facilities in all 21 districts and Thu Duc City would receive 40,000 of the first group, who are asymptomatic and have no underlying diseases, but have been found infected with the virus through rapid testing.
