PANO - The Party Committee and the Military Command of the armed forces of Hanoi on Oct. 3 held a conference to review military training activities in the 2001-2005 period. In the period, the City's military units strictly observed all regulations and requirements in conducting training courses and military exercises. They creatively applied these principles in designing training courses and organising military exercises. The conference pointed out encouraging achievements in training while frankly pointing out remaining shortcomings and at the same time discussed appropriate measures to further enhance training quality. Soldiers will be required to stand at combat readiness while being flexible and creative when encountering problems which occur. The 9 th Asia - Europe Meeting (ASEM 9) held on November 5-6, 2012 in Vientiane, Laos was an important event of the cooperative relations between two continents of Asia and Europe. The Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung actively participated in the activies of ASEM 9 and contributed to the success of the meeting. At the meeting, Prime Minister Dung, the Indonesian President and Russian Prime Minister, representatives for Asian members, were invited to deliver speeches at the seminar on "Global Issues". The United States is seeking more access to Philippines ports and airfields to re-fuel and service its warships and planes, diplomatic and military sources said on Thursday, expanding its presence at a time of tension with China in the East Sea. Lieutenant colonel Tran Van Thuong, chief of HCM City’s Rach Chiec Traffic Police Team said that this regulation has been implemented.
