Military units launch tree-planting in tribute to Uncle Ho
At the ceremony held by Minh Dam Regiment under the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Military Command, its chief Senior Colonel Nguyen Tam Hung emphasized the importance of planting trees to beautify barracks, create shade for troops during their break-time, contributing to improving troops’ living standard. According to Colonel Hung, this year, the regiment plans to build 3,500 trees. The unit will study to plant fruit and shade trees in the coming time. The Vietnam National University's Hoa Lac campus is ready with all facilities and equipment for educational and research activities. The Vietnam National University (VNU)’s headquarter has been relocated to its newly built campus in Hoa Lac on Hanoi's outskirt this week. The campus is expected to be the most modern and advanced university town in Southeast Asia. Planned to cover about 1,113.7 hectares, the campus includes the Polytechnic School, a research center, and offices of the management board. Built with a total investment of VND22 trillion (nearly US$950 million), the college town consisting of nine member universities, eight institutes, 13 research centers, and four specialized high schools will provide training for more than 41,000 students. According to data of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, last year, two-way trade between Vietnam and Australia hit US$12.4 billion for the first time, up more than 49 percent compared with that of 2020. The value of shipments to Australia reached more than US$4.45 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23 percent. Vietnam spent nearly US$8 billion in importing goods from Australia, up nearly 70 percent against 2020’s figure. Vietnam's exports to Australia are growing strongly, reaching US$1.38 billion in the first quarter of 2022, a surge of 32.36 percent against the same period last year. At the working session, Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Commander of Army Corps 12 shared that Army Corps 12 is the successor of Corps 559 – Truong Son soldiers.
