This video also enhances friendship between countries participating in the regional sports event and introduces the beautiful landscapes of the host countries, with the national flags of South Asian countries appearing in Hạ Long Bay, the green tea hills in the northern mountainous region and Bạch Long glass bridge (Mộc Châu Plateau, the northern province of Sơn La). Hiền is known as the Vietnamese Wushu Queen as she won the World Wushu Competition seven times. She received numerous gold medals at international tournaments. SEA Games athletes offered free rides on Hanoi double decker buses
The tickets will be valid until late this month. The bus tours which run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily take visitors through tourist attractions including St. Joseph's Cathedral, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hoa Lo Prison, the Temple of Literature and the Opera House. The buses will depart every hour from Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square near the Hoan Kiem pedestrian zone. Hanoi opened double-decker bus tour in May 2018 with ticket prices ranging from VND196,000 ($8.48) to VND650,000 ($28). The free tours are being offered as Vietnamese authorities try to take advantage of the country hosting Southeast Asia’s largest sports event to boost its tourism image and attract more foreign tourists in the post pandemic new normal scenario. Vietnam leads SEA Games medal table with 31 golds
Vietnam has created a wide gap with second-place Indonesia and other sports delegations in the medal standing of the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, obtaining a total of 75 medals on Saturday afternoon, according to statistics on the event’s official website. The host already claimed 31 gold medals, 18 silvers, and 26 bronzes at the time of writing to remain on top of the table and far outpace other countries. Rowing contributed four golds and one silver, wushu snatched one gold and one bronze, and track and field claimed one gold on Saturday morning. With 13 golds, 14 silvers, and three bronzes, Indonesia ranked second, followed by Malaysia, who also got 13 golds and had 12 more bronzes than Indonesia, but pocketed just five silvers. The Philippines and Thailand completed the top five, while Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Laos, and Timor Leste came next in that sequence. SEA Games 31: Vietnam win golds in running, rowing, wushu
Runner Nguyen Thi Oanh (Photo: VNA) Hanoi – Runner Nguyen Thi Oanh on May 14 won the first gold in athletics at the 31st SEA Games on May 14, the second official day of competition, at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium. Oanh defended her title in the women’s 1,500m event after finishing with a time of 4min 14.98sec. Her teammate Khuat Phuong Anh came second in 4:26.90, and Singapore representative Goh Chui Ling was third in 4:33.41. It was Oanh’s third time winning this event at the SEA Games. This year she ran about three seconds faster than three years ago in the Philippines. “I am happy to win the first gold medal for Vietnam in athletics. I hope that it will be a good start for the track-and-field team. Together we will complete and exceed our assigned target,” Oanh said. Vietnam lead Group A in women’s football at SEA Games after crushing Cambodia
Vietnam became the leaders of Group A in women's football at the ongoing 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games after scoring a 7-0 victory over Cambodia on Saturday evening. Vietnam's coach Nguyen Duc Chung benched many key players and deployed his reserve line-up in the match against Cambodia at Cam Pha Stadium in northern Quang Ninh Province. However, the Vietnamese women still managed to overpower their opponents. In more than 90 minutes, the Cambodian visitors could barely get the ball onto Vietnam’s field. Nguyen Thi Van opened the scoring for Vietnam with an accurate header in the sixth minute. Although Vietnam had many good chances to widen the gap, no more goals were netted in the remaining time of the first half. Pham Hai Yen scored the second goal for Vietnam in the 58th minute, before Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung made it 3-0 in the 65th minute. SEA Games 31: Vietnam bags first gold medal in Duathlon

(Photo: VNA) Quang Ninh – Athlete Pham Tien San won the first gold medal in Duathlon for Vietnam at the 31st SEA Games on May 15 on Tuan Chau beach in the northern province of Quang Ninh. San finished first in the competition with a time of 1:55:58. Ferbriade Rudi and Johan Jauhari, both of Indonesia, secured the silver and bronze medals a time of 1:56:12 and 1:57: 36, respectively. 31-year-old San had won three silver medals at SEA Games held in 2013, 2015 and 2017. Thirteen male athletes from seven regional countries took part in the event. The Duathlon event at SEA Games 31 has two sets of medals for men's and women's individual events.
