Best universities have skyrocketing tuition fees
There has been a difference in tuition fees of many autonomous public universities announced in 2022 compared to the mass training program. According to the announcement of Hanoi Law University, the tuition fee for full-time students will be VND572,000 a credit for the general program and VNA1,605 million a credit for high-quality programs from the academic year 2022-2023. Last year, the tuition fee for the mass training program was VND 280,000 a credit whereas it was VND990,000 a credit for a high-quality program. Thus, this year's tuition fee is almost double the previous year. Meanwhile, the Hanoi Medical University increased annual tuition fees in the academic year 2022-2023 for the Medicine and Pharmacy faculty and Dentistry - Jaw - Facial faculty to VND 24.5 million, an increase of 71 percent compared to VND14.3 million in 2021. With the new position, the VNU stood 183rd in Asia and 14th in Southeast Asia, according to the rankings issued by the Cybermetrics Lab of the Spanish National Research Council on August 7. The Webometrics list, published twice a year, assesses the digitalisation capacity and impact of higher education institutions’ academic resources basing on the volume of the website content, the visibility and impact of their website publications, the openness of academic resources on Google Scholar, and the number of citations they received on the Scopus database. Accordingly, buyers have to be responsible for export orders to the US which source Chinese cotton materials. Thanh Cong secures many large orders from the US. In 2022, the company sets a target to generate $179 million in revenues and $10.87 million in profit, up 120 per cent and 188 per cent respectively against last year. Under a report on the impact of rising interest rates on Asia-Pacific (APAC) banks released this week, Fitch said annual credit targeting remains a centrepiece of the State Bank of Vietnam's (SBV) monetary policy framework, and the refinancing rate is not a primary policy lever. Moreover, strong foreign investment inflows underpin the dong's resilience, which has depreciated by only 2 per cent year-to-date by end-July 2022, making it the second-best performing currency in APAC behind only the Hong Kong dollar.
