Situation in Vietnam When we talk about air pollution, we are referring to: particulate matter 10 micrometers or less in diameter (PM10), PM2.5, black carbon, nitrogen oxides (NO and NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3), and volatile organic carbons (VOCs). Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019 set for May

Nearly 50 cultural and art performances, sports competitions and commercial and scientific workshops will take place from May 10 to 13, mainly in the city of Nha Trang. The programme aims to introduce the traditional and contemporary cultural values of Khanh Hoa Province – the so-called land of agarwood and sea of Salangane birds – and the South Central Coast. Fiat Chrysler and Renault pursue $35 billion merger to tackle car sector challenges
If it goes ahead, the $35 billion-plus tie-up would alter the landscape for rivals including General Motors and Peugeot maker PSA Group, which recently held inconclusive talks with Fiat Chrysler (FCA), and could spur more deals. French group Renault said it was studying the proposal from Italian-American FCA with interest, and considered it friendly. RoK police pledge to look into violence against Vietnamese woman
Min Gap-ryong, commissioner general of the Korean National Police Agency (Source: Yonhap) Seoul (VNA) – The Republic of Korea (RoK)’s police chief has expressed regrets over a recent assault on a Vietnamese woman by her Korean husband, and vowed to conduct a thorough investigation into the case. Min Gap-ryong, commissioner general of the Korean National Police Agency, made the remarks during his talks with Public Security Minister To Lam in Seoul on July 8, according to Yonhap news agency. The case made headlines in both countries over the weekend, after a video went viral of a 36-year-old Korean man punching and kicking his Vietnamese wife in the presence of their two-year-old son. The violence left the woman with a broken rib and other injuries that require four weeks of treatment. Photo exhibitions on air pollution tour universities in HCM City
University students look at a photo exhibition on air pollution in Vietnam's big cities (Photo courtesy of CHANGE) The exhibitions, which are part of the Clean Air, Blue Sky campaign, call on visitors and students to take part in programmes promoting pure air. The exhibitions began at the HCM City University of Social Science and Humanities in District 1 on June 5, and will travel to the Banking University in Thu Duc district on June 8, and to Hoa Sen University in district 1 on June 10, among other locations. At the exhibitions, students play games relating to environmental protection. Dr Dong Van Huong, Vice Rector of the HCM City University of Transport and Communication, where the exhibition will be held on June 12, said that university students should think of ways to reduce air pollution, especially in transport.
