10,000 Noi Bai Airport employees to be tested for SARS-CoV-2

February 10, 2021 by dtinews.vn

Hanoi is going to test 10,000 employees at Noi Bai International Airport to avoid an outbreak like at Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City.

10,000 Noi Bai Airport employees to be tested for SARS-CoV-2

According to the Department of Health, they have started taking samples from the afternoon of February 9. Son Son District Medical Station was asked to work with Long Bien District Medical Station and Gia Lam District Medical Station to carry out the task. The samples will be sent to St. Paul Hospital, Thanh Nhan Hospital, Duc Giang Hospital, Hanoi Lung Hospital, Son Tay Hospital and Ha Dong Hospital. About 3,000 samples were collected on February 9.

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam previously asked all airports to be proactive in asking for tests for the employees.

On February 7, HCM City authorities asked for viral testing for all staff at Tan Son Nhat International Airport after four more staff members were infected with SARS-CoV-2. HCM City authorities said stricter measures would be applied and the staff members would be tested for the second time.

HCM City Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention asked to test the airport staff members one day before they return to work. Only when the test results are negative could they go to the airport. Staff members who work regularly with the passengers and in the freight transport sector must be tested periodically.

Over 10,000 employees at Hanoi airport tested for COVID-19

February 10, 2021 by tuoitrenews.vn

Nearly 10,000 employees at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi were put through COVID-19 testing on Tuesday in a precautious attempt to minimize the risk of transmission.

The mass sampling, which included all high-risk staffers at the airport, started in the afternoon and was not able to conclude until late at night.

It was carried out by the medical centers of several districts in Hanoi, including Soc Son, Long Bien, Me Linh, Bac Tu Liem, and Hoai Duc.

Testing samples will be processed at selected hospitals in the capital, including Saint Paul, Thanh Nhan, Duc Giang, Son Tay, Ha Dong, and Hanoi Lung Hospital.

According to Vu Duc Hanh, deputy director of Hanoi’s Department of Health, the sampling process had gone through 7,300 airport staffers by 7:00 pm on Tuesday and finished the same night.

Four hundred and eighty-four local infections have been logged in 13 provinces and cities since a new wave struck Vietnam on January 28, including 327 in Hai Duong Province, 53 in Quang Ninh Province, 28 in Hanoi, and 33 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The risk of further community spread stays extremely high in Ho Chi Minh City because the virus has hit Tan Son Nhat International Airport, with the source of infection still unknown, health authorities said.

Hanoi CDC can test 10,000 Covid-19 samples per day

January 31, 2021 by hanoitimes.vn

The Hanoitimes – It is reported that some 5,000 people have linked to the pandemic outbreaks across the country.

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) is able to analyze up to 10,000 Covid-19 samples per day with a view to early zoning off areas linked to Covid-19 outbreaks across the country, according to the Hanoi CDC’s Deputy Director Truong Quang Viet.

“If we apply the method of community screening test or pool testing for coronavirus in groups, the capacity of 10,000 samples per day can be achievable,” said the deputy director.

The Hanoi CDC is implementing an RT-PCR test plan for returnees from the pandemic-hit northern provinces of Hai Duong and Quang Ninh, including those who have been to Van Don airport and Muong Thanh Luxury Ha Long Hotel, Dong Trieu district and Chi Linh city; or those who have come to the areas that are warned by the Ministry of Health or have been under lockdown.

Those who have been to the above-mentioned areas since January 14 must take Covid-19 test. If showing symptoms of Covid-19, they must be put under strict quarantine for treatment at the medical facility after being sampled.

Mr. Truong Quang Viet added that the Hanoi CDC is running eight RT-PCR test machines and four extraction machines.

“Currently, in the warehouse, there are more than 32,000 PCR bio-products to test together with the extractors. Thus, the consumable materials are sufficient for testing,” Mr. Viet said.

He confirmed some 5,000 people linked to the pandemic outbreaks across the country.

However, the Hanoi CDC has planned to carry out Covid-19 test for 8,000 people amid continuous reports of new community cases of the viral disease in the city and northern localities.

Five new community transmissions of Covid-19 were confirmed in Hanoi on January 31 morning, raising its tally to nine in the last four days.

Vietnam also recorded fourteen more Covid-19 patients this morning, following the latest outbreak in eight localities with 221 community transmissions across the country just a few days before the Lunar New Year ( Tet ), Vietnam’s biggest holiday.

Local residents are still recommended to regularly wash hands with soap or hand sanitizers, clean surfaces and frequently touched objects (door knobs, mobile phones, tablets, tables, and chairs). People are also asked to keep safe distance with each other and avoid mass gatherings.

At the time of writing, Vietnam reported only 1,781 Covid-19 cases, including 287 active patients and 35 deaths.

Vietnam sees nearly 10,000 newly-founded businesses in January

February 10, 2021 by www.vir.com.vn

The newly-founded businesses mainly work in the industries deemed “safer” amid the pandemic

About 10,000 businesses were opened during the first month of the year, following data published by the National Business Registration Portal under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. In addition, the average registered capital per enterprise was VND15.4 billion ($669,565), up 3.3 per cent on-year, while total added capital increased by 10.5 per cent or VND395 trillion ($17.17 billion).

The firms mainly specialise in power distribution, water, gas, mining, retail, healthcare, and real estate, among others. This reflects businesses turning towards the least risky industries.

Meanwhile, sectors like retail, construction, and manufacturing were hit the worst, with the highest number of businesses leaving the market (9,585, 3,189, and 3,053, respectively).

As of the end of January, the total number of businesses withdrawing from the market hit 25,752, about 18,000 establishments of which have temporarily halted operations, up 53.4 per cent on-year. The rest are waiting for dissolution or have finished the procedures for dissolution.

Notably, businesses suspending operations hail from all 17 industries with an on-year growth of more than 40 per cent.

Elsewhere, the number of businesses resuming operations in January dropped 23.2 per cent on-year to 6,503.

Hanoi receives donation of 10,000 test kits to combat Covid-19

August 8, 2020 by hanoitimes.vn

The Hanoitimes – The test kit is able to detect new Covid-19 in droplets obtained from the respiratory tract and blood.

The Hanoi Department of Health on August 7 received a donation of 10,000 RT-rPCR test kits and 12,000 anti-droplet masks for the pandemic prevention, VnExpress reported.

These medical supplies will be handed over to health workers who are working in hospitals and isolation zones in the city.

“Hanoi has recorded nearly 100,000 returnees from Danang, now the largest epicenter of Covid-19 in Vietnam, between July 15 and 29, thus thousands of people need to be tested for coronavirus using RT-PCR,” said Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha.

She thanked the donors for their active support which she said will help the healthcare sector early detect suspected cases in the community.

RT-rPCR is the latest version of Covid-19 test kit, delivering instant results and high sensitivity. The previous RT-PCR testing had to go through a layer of electrophoresis before giving out the results.

The test kit was jointly researched and produced by the Vietnam Military Medical University and Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company. It was recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) on April 26 and granted a CE certification and a Certificate of Free Sale from the UK, allowing them to be sold in the European market.

The kit is able to detect new Covid-19 in droplets obtained from the respiratory tract and blood.

At the online meeting with the districts about Covid-19 prevention on August 6, the Hanoi authorities requested the application of PCR tests for all people from the pandemic-hit regions.

Currently, Hanoi city has three PCR test machines, which can test 500-700 samples a day, and up to 2,000 samples if more machines are provided. Hanoi’s medical staff, who have been well trained, can take nearly 12,000 pharyngeal samples per day, said Truong Quang Viet, deputy director of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC).
