The Sinh Con, Sinh Cha workshop in Ho Chi Minh City facilitated discussion on three popular parenting topics attracting public attention in recent times: protecting children against physical and psychological abuses, handling children's tantra, and early education for children about money.

Merited artist Xuan Ba, who is NFVC's goodwill ambassador, volunteered as the workshop's facilitator.

Discussed topics at the workshop were within the programme's three main content pillars of intelligence, behaviour, and health of children aged 0-6 years.

Many of Generali Vietnam's staff and agent volunteers; as well as staff members from the NFVC; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, and the Department of Education and Training joined hands to support the workshop's organisation.

At the event, Generali Vietnam handed 250 gift sets to all participating children, 250 booklets to their parents and caregivers, and 30 special in-cash and in-kind gift sets to 30 local families in extreme hardship.

Tina Nguyen, Generali Vietnam CEO shared, "We are heartened to see taht the Sinh Con, Sinh Cha workshop was well received with great enthusiasm from participating parents in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a strong testament to the programme's positive impacts on parents, in both urban and rural areas.”

Nguyen continued, “The workshop's success motivates us to continue to bring this programme to many more parents across the country, thereby realising our ambition of becoming a lifetime partner to our customers as well as the community at large, not only through our business endeavours but also our efforts to contribute to public welfare as well as to the community's sustainable development."

Le Tuyet Mai, deputy director of the NFVC remarked, "The success of the Sinh Con, Sinh Cha workshop in Ho Chi Minh City demonstrates the strong demand for parenting knowledge sharing. We at the NFVC are very appreciative of the co-participation of our partners and sponsors who also share the passion for the protection, care, and education of Vietnamese children in contributing to the children's comprehensive development."

This was the first Sinh Con, Sinh Cha workshop in Ho Chi Minh City after a series of local workshops had been successfully rolled out in various cities and provinces across the country, reaching out to more than 4,200 parents, children, and kindergarten teachers and staff.

In addition to the local workshops, Sinh Con, Sinh Cha has garnered millions of views, interactions, and positive comments via its sitcom series published on Generali Vietnam's official YouTube channel as well as wide-ranging parenting content on its Facebook fanpage and the Sinh Con, Sinh Cha parenting community group.

Earlier in May, Generali announced the results of the independent impact report for the pilot programme in the 2020-2021 period, indicating positive impacts on participating parents' change in knowledge, skills, and behaviours, with an average of 85 per cent of parents surveyed agreeing that the programme helps improve their parenting knowledge and skills for each topic discussed.

Additionally, 97 per cent of the parents have changed their parenting approaches as suggested by the programme, while it also helped more than 97 per cent of parents reduce their stress.

In December, Generali Group pledged over $1 million in support for UNICEF's Integrated Early Childhood Development Holistic Parenting project as well as the contribution of parenting materials and content from Sinh Con, Sinh Cha to this important project.
