The trip is among activities to deepen defence and security ties between Vietnam and Japan. Such activities between the two sides were affected by Covid-19 pandemic. During the stay in Haiphong, the Japanese delegation will have a meeting with Vietnam Naval Academy, which will be held online to ensure Covid-19 preventive measures. On Tuesday, the Japanese crew members also met Yamada Takio, Japanese Ambassador in Vietnam.
