Disney World announces new opening dates from July 11 – but you can only visit one park a day

DISNEY World has announced the opening of their parks, with some attractions welcoming guests once more from July 11.

However, park-hopping will be banned, with guests only able to visit one park within the theme park per day.

The website explains: “Guests will be able to select one park per day; visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable upon the reopening of the theme parks due to attendance limitations.”

The theme park has been closed since March due to the pandemic, after Florida began lockdown.

However, as the state lowers restrictions, the park has announced plans to welcome guests back to the resort.

Not all of the parks will be open – Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open from July 11, but Epcot and Hollywood Studios won’t be open until July 15.

The Animal Kingdom Villas, Pop Century Resort and Contemporary Resort will open from July 10, followed by other resorts later this year.

The park will also operate a new online reservation system for guests to be able to return.

Guests who have a resort hotel booking and theme park ticket will be able to make a reservation from today, with just one park booking per day.

Annual pass holders will be able to make reservations from June 26, while guests who have park tickets but no hotel bookings will be able to make reservations from June 28.

It isn’t clear when new guests without bookings will be able to visit the park once again as new bookings have been suspended.

Travelling to the US from the UK currently isn’t possible, with all flights banned from the UK to the country.

The current advice from the UK government warns against non-essential travel abroad, although this could be lifted.

Not only that, but Brits must quarantine when returning to the UK for two weeks, but this is to be reviewed on June 29.

There is hope for holidays in the US however – not only is Trump reviewing the ban depending on how the UK coronavirus numbers continue, but airlines are operating flights to the US again from next month.

Virgin Atlantic announced plans for flights from the UK to Orlando, New York and LA from July 20.

Caution is advised however, until restrictions are lifted otherwise you face being stopped at the airport as well as being out of pocket.

Disney fans can plan a holiday for much later, with bookings available until September 2021.

Any guests wanting to return this summer will face new restrictions and safety procedures at the park.

The company said they plan to enact “high-energy squads” of employees who will roam the parks checking to make sure people are wearing masks.

Disney officials said they might make “relaxation zones” where people will be allowed to remove their face masks.

Disney Springs, the outdoor shopping area in Orlando, began a phased reopening on May 20.
