Former US president Barack Obama, 58, left social media followers in a frenzy after fans spotted that he was following porn star Sara Jay on Twitter .

Not long after an eagle eyed fan noticed that the 42-year-old adult actress had a very well known follower, her name was trending over social media.

The results were a series of entertaining messages and memes about the unusual social media connection.

Several also raised concern for Barack when his doting wife Michelle Obama discovers why the porn star is trending.

“Michelle’s about to do MORE than snatching Barack Obama phone. He’s finna [sic] be IN TROUBLE. He better unfollow Sara Jay,” wrote an amused follower.

“Finding out that Barack Obama follows Sara Jay is exactly what the world needed today,” joked another.

Another follower noted how bizarre 2020 was becoming after discovering the unlikely connection.

“Sees that Sara Jay is top trending. Sees that Sara Jay has a Twitter account. Sees who is following Sara Jay. 2020 is WEEEEEIIIIIIRD,” they wrote.

Others weren’t too pleased about knowing that their former president followed the adult star.

“Knowing that Obama faps to Sara Jay is something I never wanted to know. We are only three months into this decade…” said another.

Barack follows 608,500 people on his Twitter account and has over 113 million followers keeping track of what he’s getting up to.

Sara Jay also boasts an impressive following of 1.1 million Twitter fans and runs her own porn production company.

The 42-year-old adult performer leapt onto social media to defend her VIP twitter follower.

“It’s because I’m flexible duh,” she wrote before posting a second status.

“Maybe it’s because I produce, direct, write and manage adult talent for my production company Wyde Syde,” she snapped back at fans.

Since the news erupted over the weekend, it appears that Barack has since unfollowed the adult actress.

Instead of responding to the unusual viral hashtag, the former U.S leader has instead dedicated his social media to providing vital information in regards to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Barack is one of a number of well known faces that are urging citizens to stay at home and isolate in a bid to stop the spread of the virus.

“Not everybody can stay home, and we owe a big debt of gratitude to health professionals, transit and airport workers, first responders, and everyone keeping our communities going. Leaders have to step up to support people whose lives and livelihoods take a hit in the weeks ahead,” he wrote.
