Another gold medal haul from weightlifting, this time through Morea Baru (pictured) in the 61kg class at Apia, Samoa today.

Weightlifting keeps PNG in the race with a further three gold medals to Hanuabada man Morea Baru.
Baru not only claimed the Pacific games gold for the snatch, clean and jerk and overall total, he also won the Oceania and commonwealth titles in the 61kg division.
This is the second haul of three gold medals from the sport of weightlifting following the exploits of Dika Toua on Tuesday.
Baru who lifted 124kg for the snatch, 170kg for the clean and jerk for a total of 284 was too far ahead of Jacob Vaniaitivanga of India to be troubled.
The Indian lifter recorded a total of 242.
Meanwhile, PNG’s other gold medal hope is in Steven Kari who will compete on Saturday.
