Quang Ninh authorities survey the site The Department of Transport said on March 25 that the Management Board of Transport Construction Projects will be the investor and start the construction this July. The road will be 18.5km long with four lanes, 8.3km will be in Ha Long City and 10.3km will be in Cam Pha City. Cao Tuong Huy, vice chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Committee, already surveyed the site. He said the new road would help ease traffic on Highway 18 and help strengthen links between the province’s biggest cities. More ports and residential areas are expected to be built along the road. In March, the investor must work with the authorities in Ha Long and Cam Pha cities to complete the design and detailed planning. Ground clearance and compensation must be completed in the second quarter. They must quickly find suitable contractors and other preparation to start the construction this July. This is one of three key projects that Quang Ninh authorities will start in 2019. Other projects are Cua Luc tunnel and Van Don-Mong Cai highway.
