Ba Ria-Vung Tau needs VND70 trillion for tourism development By Dao Loan An international cruise ship arrives in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province – PHOTO: DAO LOAN HCMC – The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is in need of funding of up to VND70 trillion to invest in its tourism sector in the coming period, aiming to welcome some 8.6 million tourists with total revenue reaching VND31 trillion in 2025 and 17 million arrivals generating a total of VND102 trillion in revenue in 2030. The plan, part of the master plan for Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province’s tourism development until 2025, with a vision toward 2030, has been approved by the provincial authorities. Some 7% of the investment capital, equivalent to VND4.9 trillion, will be sourced from the province’s budget and official development assistance to develop traffic infrastructure, tourism ports, Vung Tau’s urban infrastructure, Con Dao National Park, and tourist attractions such as Long Hai-Phuoc Hai and Ho Tram-Binh Chau. Other sources, inclusive of foreign direct investment, accounting for 93%, or VND65 trillion, will be spent on specific projects including tourist facilities and products, and marketing promotion and trademark establishment, among other things.
