On the occasion of International Children’s Day (June 1st), from May 27th to 28th, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology will organize a program to introduce Italian culture.
This is an opportunity for Vietnamese children and adults to study Italian culture through activities, drawing masks and Italian gastronomy, along with enjoying performances of traditional costumes of Brunei, Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Japan and Vietnam.
On this occasion, traditional games of different countries will be held.
The program aims to create an atmosphere for visitors, especially children, to experience performances, traditional costumes and folk games, and study the traditional cultures of Vietnam and other countries in the world./.

On October 24th, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology organized its 20th founding anniversary and received the first-class Labour Order. Addressing the ceremony, Assoc. prof. Dr. Vo Quang Trong, Director of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology said over 20 years, the museum has conducted over 300 collection trips at home and abroad with nearly 30,000 collected exhibits, in which 27,000 exhibits on Vietnam’s ethnic groups and over 3,000 exhibits on other countries; 115,000 photos, nearly 2,500 videos and over 900 recording tapes. The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (VME) has recently been awarded the ‘Most Attractive Destination in Vietnam in 2015’ title by the Vietnam Tourism Association. The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology Located on Nguyen Van Huyen Street, Cau Giay district, the museum was established in 1995 under the National Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities. An exhibition entitled "A Glance at Asia" at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is showcasing rich cultures in Asia through original items. The exhibition features Chinese kites, Indonesia religious objects, Indian masks, Japanese pottery and costumes from many countries. All of them are donated by Professor Kaneko Kazushige. Kazushige is President of the Institute of Asian Ethno-Forms and Culture in Japan. He has toured all the prefectures of Japan to research traditional handworks. The award honours and affirms the museum’s quality work in 2015. In the last year, the museum has constantly innovated by organising exhibitions and cultural performances that have attracted a large number of domestic and international visitors. The museum recently upgraded a building in the museum to service travellers. On the occasion of lunar New Year 2017, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology coordinated with Son La provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a programme to celebrate Tet, in association with Son La provincial culture, from February 4th to 5th.
