Hanoi (VNA) – The sales of motorbikes exceeded 1,676,800 units in the second half of 2016, raising the year’s total number to over 3.12 million, up 9.5 percent from 2015.
The Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM) reported that its members, namely Honda, Piaggio, Suzuki, SYM and Yamaha, produced 55 models during the year.
Honda Vietnam (HVN) accounted for 70 percent of the market share with the sales of over 2.14 million units, up 7 percent from the previous year.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country’s motorbike output exceeded 3.39 million units, up 3.2 percent from 2015.-VNA
The Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA) announced that it sold 6.083 vehicles in June, marking a year-on-year rise of 62 percent. Toyota Viet Nam recorded the most robust sales by offloading 1,773 vehicles, an increase of 283 vehicles over the previous month. The second and third places went to two local companies - Truong Hai with 956 vehicles and Xuan Kien, 608. The business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce sales in Vietnam reached USD 4.07 billion last year, increasing 37 percent compared to that of the previous year. It also accounted for about 2.8 percent of total retail sales and consumption services revenue nationwide, according to the 2015 Vietnam E-commerce Report announced by the E-commerce and Information Technology Agency (Vecita) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade recently. Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s retail sales of goods and services rose to 10.2 percent to around 156.7 billion USD in 2016, data from the General Statistics Office (GSO) has revealed. Hanoi (VNA) - Honda Vietnam (HVN) sold 2.03 million motorbikes in the fiscal year 2016 (which ended in March), 120,000 units more than the previous year, according to General Director of Honda Vietnam Minoru Kato. The figure accounts for 70 percent of the total domestic market with nearly 2.9 million motorbikes sold.
