New ao dai designs for festive season
Veteran designer Dao Le Dieu Anh has introduced her latest ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) collection in celebration of the upcoming festive season and Lunar New Year (Tet).
The collection is based on shiny velvet and soft denim, the two trendy materials in the world for this Fall-Winter season 2016. According to Anh, velvet with its soft texture helps augment the beauty and elegance of women.
Ao dai in this new collection maintains traditional and basic features with raglan shoulders and shallow necks and button lines along the body.
A highlight of this collection is a combination of ao dai and Western-style wide pants suitable for women in casual and special occasions.
VietNamNet Bridge - Well-known HCM City-based designer Thuan Viet will showcase his new ao dai collection called "The Lyon roses" in Lyon, France. The new collection will be shown by top models like Ngoc Diem, Thuy Linh, Khanh Phuong, Bac Linh, Ninh Hoang Ngan and Le Thuy An during a Vietnam cultural program in Lyon from June 23 to 27. Fashion designer Si Hoang, in cooperation with Me Yeu Be magazine and VietGen Company, will organise an "ao dai" designing contest for little children to mark International Children's Day on June 1. 32 designers have introduced their ao dai collections before the Ao Dai Festival takes place in Hanoi from October 14 to 16.
