Hanoi (VNA) – The Australian Navy warship, HMAS WARRAMUNGA, arrived in Cam Ranh International Port, the central province of Khanh Hoa, on November 2, starting a six-day technical visit to the port.
During their visit, the ship’s Commander and crew will meet with senior officers of Naval Region 4 High Command of the Vietnam People’s Navy.
The crew will participate in a friendly sporting activity with Vietnamese soldiers explore local rich culture.
The visit aims at concretising the implementation of maritime security cooperation programmes in a memorandum of understanding on defence cooperation between Vietnam and Australia signed in 2010, thus contributing to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ navies.-VNA

Two Japanese escort ships arrived at an international seaport in the south-central Vietnamese province of Khanh Hoa on Tuesday to commence their visit to the Southeast Asian country. The two vessels, JS Ariake and JS Setogiri, carrying 500 crew members of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force docked at Cam Ranh International Seaport in the afternoon. The ships carry 39 officers and 485 crewmembers led by Rear Admiral Lee Sang Hoon. This is the second time in 2016 RoK military and mission vessels have visited Viet Nam. Two Australian naval ships, HMAS Huon and HMAS Yarra, with 56 officers and sailors aboard, arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Oct. 10, beginning a five-day visit to the city. PANO - The French Naval Ship Tonnerre will visit Cam Ranh Port, Khanh Hoa province, from May 2nd to 6th. Tonnerre is a multifunctional command and landing ship, and one of the largest vessels of the French Navy. Tonnerre serves as command headquarters at sea, helicopter carrier, and hospital ship. PANO - The French naval ship Tonnerre docked at Cam Ranh International Port, Khanh Hoa province, on May 2nd for a five-day visit. In 2013, the Tonnerre, an amphibious command vessel, arrived in Cam Ranh seaport while the Georges Leygues, an anti-submarine warfare ship, visited Ho Chi Minh City.
