Vietnamese physics team returned home yesterday after taking part in the 2016 Asian Physics Olympiad held in Hong Kong (China) from May 1 to 9. Deputy Minister of Education & Trainning Nguyen Vinh Hien welcomed Vietnamese physics team at Noi Bai International Airport. Head of Vietnamese delegation Nguyen The Khoi said 8 Vietnamese students whose participated the olympiad earned prizes including 3 silvers, 3 bronzes and 2 certificates of merit. Vietnamese team finally was ranked at seven out of 26 countries and territories behind China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China) and Taiwan (China). Deputy Minister Hien congratulated team, hoping that Vietnamese team will achieve higher results at the upcoming olympiad. Nguyen The Quynh, 11th grader from Vo Nguyen Giap Gifted High School in Quang Binh won the siver medal with a highest point 20/20. Dinh Thi Huong Thai from Le Hong Phong Gifted High School received special prize from Asia Pacific Physics Association.
