(CPV)-Viet Nam and Indonesia will be celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations in 2015. The two country will be celebrating our 60 years of friendship and solidarity.
Hence, there will be many activities in 2015 which are indeed parts of our tireless efforts to raise the awareness of the people of Indonesia and Viet Nam for a better understanding and knowledge about each other’s information, culture, traditions and values.
Social and cultural diplomacy activities focusing in promoting art and culture of Indonesia, expanding the network and collaboration between Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the mass media, Indonesia’s participation in social, cultural and sports activities in Viet Nam, facilitating visit of Indonesian officials (in the field of socio-cultural, education, and sports) to Viet Nam.
In the field of cooperation of information, an MoU on Broadcasting cooperation was signed between Radio Republic Indonesia – RRI (Mrs. Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, Director RRI) and Voice of Viet Nam – VOV (Mr. Nguyen Dang Tien, Director General) on January 13th, 2014 at the Head Office VOV Ha Noi.
The essence of the MoU is to promote the understanding of the people of both countries through the exchange of news and radio programs in the fields of art, culture, tourism, trade and other social issues.
In the field of education, University of Muhammadiyah (UM) has expressed its commitment in providing scholarships to four (4) Vietnamese high school students to study Bachelor (S1) in one of the University of Muhammadiyah in Indonesia. The scholarship is expected to be the driving force of education cooperation between universities.
The Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi has facilitated two Vietnamese students as the awardees to study at University of Muhammadiyah in Gresik. Surabaya with a full scholarship for four years began in October 2014.
In addition, some students from universities in Indonesia also visited universities in Hanoi, such as students of Master of Social Sciences and students majoring in International Relations from University Parahyangan (UNPAR), Bandung.
The purpose of the visit the students to meet with counterparts in Ha Noi, also visited the Indonesian Embassy in Ha Noi in the context of the deepening of the social and cultural conditions of Viet Nam and the development of bilateral relations.
With the increasing number of visits of this kind, is expected to improve understanding of Indonesian students about Viet Nam.
With regard to the annual scholarships granted by the Government of Indonesia, this year, Arts and Culture Scholarship (BSBI) and Darmasiswa, each granted 1 scholarship to Vietnamese student (filed application in Ha Noi).
The alumni of these scholarship programme are regarded as friends of Indonesia which will promote Indonesia to Viet Nam youth and vice versa.
In the first half of 2014, Indonesia has done promotion activities at various events and festivals in Ha Noi and other provinces, among others are:
Annual reception organized by the Youth Association, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, March 14th, 2014.
Participation in the Food Festival and Friends from Embassies in Ha Noi, March 8th, 2014, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam.
The annual festival of the United Nations International School (UNIS) Spring Fair 2014, March 15th, 2014.
Participation in book fairs “ASEAN Cultural Space” August 28th, 2014 until September 15th, 2014, which was held by the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV).
Participation in Ha Noi International Women’s Club Bazaar, November 23rd, 2014.
Participation in ASEAN Unity Days organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Dong Mo-Son Tay, Ha Noi, November 21st – 23rd, 2014.
Embassy also facilitates various teams and art of Indonesian dancers who participated in various festivals in Viet Nam, among others:
The Hue Festival, April 16th to 21st, 2014; Promotion of culture Jakarta Culture and Tourism Promotion, Hotel Melia, Ha Noi, May 19th, 2014; Team of National Secretariat Indonesian Wayang (SENAWANGI) on ASEAN Puppetry Festival featuring various types of puppet from ASEAN countries, June 19th – 21st, 2014.
Plan of Action (PoA) on the Implementattion of Strategic Partnership Indonesia and Viet Nam 2014-2018, stipulated that the two countries will organize “Viet Nam Cultural Week” in Indonesia and “Indonesian Cultural Week” in Viet Nam in 2014, as preparation for the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations of Indonesia and Viet Nam in 2015.
On December 2nd – 4th, 2014, Indonesian Embassy in Ha Noi held the Indonesian Cultural week and Art Exchange Programme at the Viet Nam Dance College (December 2nd) and Viet Nam National Academy of Music (December 4th)./.
