BAC NINH (VNA) — Northern Bac Ninh Province is to hold the Bac Ninh Festival 2014 on March 13-17.
At the festival, themed “Bac Ninh-Kinh Bac Spirit”, there will be various cultural activities, including an incense offering ceremony at Do Temple, a Quan Ho (love duets) singing contest, an ornamental plant and creature contests, a youth camp, folk music and dance performances.
Other activities are exhibitions, fairs, sports, free tours and tourism promotion.
The festival expects to attract more than 100,000 people and about 7,000 artisans, professional and amateur artists. — VNS

BAC NINH (VNS) - The Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of Bac Ninh Province has invested VND12 billion (about US$570,000) to restore two quan ho houses. These houses were originally used as places for quan ho (love duet) artists to gather for training and performances or to receive fellow singers from other villages.
