Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the relevant ministries and departments to speed up the disbursement of funding from nine World Bank-financed projects after a long delay.
They include projects to develop a water supply system, and information technology; to improve environmental hygiene in coastal cities and competitiveness in the agricultural sector, to enhance the land management system; to expand urban transport in Hanoi; to modernise the financial information and tax systems, and to ensure the quality of education in schools.
The PM has also issued instructions to hold monthly meetings to review the projects and report back to the Ministry of Planning and Investment quarterly, as well as introducing specific measures to deal with existing difficulties.
