After watching the 2008 Republican and Democratic Campaign Conventions on TV one could really get inspired. Senator Barrack Obama’s campaign has indeed inspired so many new voters to get excited about politics. And whether you consider another new generation getting into politics as a good thing or bad thing, one cannot deny they inspirational value in enhancing the process.
We also noted during the campaign speech by Senator John McCain at the Republican National Campaign Convention in Missouri that one of the themes was to give in and of yourself and join in a common cause that is bigger than self. That is an inspirational and noble calling. The Senator suggested joining the Peace Corp, or even joining the military.
As we watch the public relations pros which put on the Democratic National Convention in Denver it was obvious that they knew what they were doing as each subsequent speaker inspired the base. At the Republic Convention, you could not help but notice the new comer to the campaign, Alaska’s Governor Sarah “Barracuda” Palin, who also inspired the Republican Base.
Did you notice the lighting, sound and carefully choreographed events? Did you see the way Barrack Obama read his speech and stood in the light in a very Presidential Way? Did you listen to John McCain and others tell of his darkest hour at the Hanoi Hilton when his captors finally broke him both physically and mentally?
All these are tricks of political trade when it comes to inspiring a nation and the political base of the campaigns. Amazing actually, and we can learn a lot from these professional promoters and their incredible ability to super charge the emotions of a nation and inspire the next generation. Please think on this.
