More than 1,000 athletes with disabilities from Southeast Asia are taking part in the 3rd ASEAN Para Games, which opened on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, the Philippines. A 97-member delegation from Vietnam is taking part in the games. Of the delegation, 69 athletes will compete in six events such as track-and-field, swimming, weightlifting, chess, table-tennis and badminton. Among the Para Games events are swimming, powerlifting, badminton, table tennis, wheelchair basketball, goalball, chess, wheelchair tennis, judo, sailing, boccia, tenpin bowling, and fencing. The Games will conclude on December 21.
