Over 180,000 visitors to the relic site of Uncle Ho’s father

From February 19th to 24th (the 1st to the 6th day of the first lunar month), the relic site of Nguyen Sinh Sac - the father of President Ho Chi Minh, located in Cao Lanh city, the southern province of Dong Thap, attracted more than 180,000 domestic and foreign tourists, increasing 15% in comparison with that in 2014. This year, more visitors came to the site because they wanted to see the two Vietnam heritage trees, including a 287-year thistle tree and a 326-year tree as well as to admire two other over-100-year old trees that present two works of arts. Dong Thap: Ancient trees win heritage honour

The 326-year-old Sop (Ficus pisocarpa Blume) tree (Source: dongthap.gov.v) A 287-year-old carambola tree and a 326-year-old Sop (Ficus pisocarpa Blume) tree in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap have been recognised as national heritage trees. Certificates of the recognition were handed over to local authorities by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) at a ceremony held in the locality on December 18. The trees, which are the first heritage trees of Dong Thap, are standing in the memorial site of Nguyen Sinh Sac, who is late President Ho Chi Minh’s father, in Cao Lanh city since 1977 as a gift from the Ngo Van Hay family. During the two resistance wars, the Ngo Van Hay family dug cellars under the trees to provide shelters for revolutionaries. Dong Thap kick-starts the construction of new monument

Binh Dinh to get tough on foot-dragging investor

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thua Thien-Hue Province, the number of holidaymakers to Hue City on occasion of National Day are estimated at 60,000, from which foreign visitors account for one third. Visiting Uncle Ho’s mother’s village

(VOV) - Hoàng Trù or Chùa village, the home village of President Ho Chi Minh's mother, is the place where he was born. Hoàng Trù village is located in Kim Liên commune, Nam Đàn district, Nghệ An province, about 15 km west of Vinh city. The Hoàng Trù relic site is associated with the birthplace of Uncle Ho, his childhood and stories about his parents.
