French singer La Grande Sophie to perform in Hanoi

The Hanoitimes - French cultural center L’Espace announced that French pop-rock singer Sophie Huriaux, who is known by her stage name La Grande Sophie, will perform in Hanoi on December 12. This is the second visit to Vietnam by La Grande Sophie. She first came to Vietnam in 2013 for performance at the Vietnam-France music festival. Tung Duong celebrates his decade-long career

HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese singer Tung Duong will present all his hits at a live concert in Ha Noi this weekend. Entitled Thap Ky Hoan Ca (A Decade of Joyful Singing), the concert is his sixth liveshow in a career that launched after winning the singing contest Morning Star - Rendezvous in 2004. "The concert is not only to celebrate my profession's maturity, but also is to fulfill my promise to my audiences of presenting new music or producing a show every year," Duong said. British soul singer Joss Stone and string quartet BOND will take part in a four-day music festival starting on October 8 in Hanoi. Rhino horns similar to human nails

Rhino species are being pushed to extinction worldwide while the last Java rhino in Vietnam, one of the world’s main markets for rhino horns, died in 2010. According to the wildlife protection organization, there are three rhinos which are killed for their horns. Although in fact there is no scientific works demonstrating the value of rhino horn in treating disease, many people still are considered rhino horn as panacea.
